Best Time To Visit – Uganda

The best time to visit Uganda is from June to August and December to February, which are the Dry seasons. Wildlife viewing is at its peak then. Primate walks in the forest are a big part of any safari in Uganda. The habitat of rainforests is, by default, very wet, and you can’t avoid rain completely. However, after heavy rain, the skies often open up to bright sunshine.

Is it safe to travel to Uganda?

Uganda is a safe country to visit, especially when your part of an organized game drive with private guides, as you will be with us. These tours are designed to enhance your safety and provide you with a well-guided experience. There are, of course, some places to avoid in big cities like Kampala or Entebbe. But – as with everywhere else in the world – you’ll be fine by taking some precautions. Just some examples to be on the safe side, pun intended, don’t explore the city at night without a driver or guide, keep your valuables close to you, avoid wearing prominent and visible jewelry, and leave some things like passports in the hotel safe.

Day 1: Transfer to Masai Mara
After an early breakfast, you will leave for Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy the beautiful landscape along the way. Arrive late in the afternoon, game drive in the Mara wild, or relax in your camp.

Days 2 & 3: Explore Masai Mara National Reserve
You will spend two days exploring the Maasai Mara. Masai Mara is famous for the wildebeest migration, one of the Wonders of the World. It is here that the Great Migration happens each year. Millions of wildebeests and zebras migrate from the Serengeti in Tanzania into Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve in search of greener pastures. These animals cross the crocodile-packed Mara River; most make it across, while the unfortunate ones are feasted on by the hungry crocodiles. The wildebeest migration takes place from July through October.
The Mara is home to thousands of animals, including the Big Five. Enjoy early morning and full-day game drives during which you will spot elephants, antelopes, zebras, leopards, cheetahs, Masai giraffes, impalas, gazelles, lions, and many others. There are over 500 bird species in the Mara, which makes it a great spot for bird watching.

Day 4: Explore the black rhinos and tree-climbing lions of Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, your journey to Lake Nakuru will begin. Enjoy the breathtaking landscape along the way before making your way to the park in the afternoon. On arrival, lunch will be served after which you will go for an afternoon game drive and see the best of Lake Nakuru National Park. Make your way into the park just in time for lunch. Embark on an afternoon game drive during which you will see animals like cheetahs, lions, African elephants, and giraffes, among others. The landscape and vegetation at Amboseli National Park are also a sight to behold.

Day 6: Discover untouched wilderness and the man-eating lions of Tsavo West

Some of the common species to witness include crocodiles, leopards, lions, giraffes, zebras, mongooses, buffaloes, cheetahs, and others. You shall appreciate the conservation efforts made to save rhinos at Ngulia sanctuary, which is located within the park and houses black Rhinos. One of the best attractions during the game drive is the Mzima Springs- the springs squeeze out over fifty million gallons of water. At sunset, you shall return to the lodge for dinner, relaxation, and overnight.

Day 7: Off to the coastal town of Mombasa
On this day, your beach holiday will begin. After breakfast, start your journey to Mombasa, which is located in Coastal Kenya. Mombasa is famous for the Indian Ocean. You will have your lunch enroute since Mombasa is located miles away.
