This tour will take you through Queen Elizabeth National Park, with a variety of different species of mammals and birds, and the famous Kazinga Channel for boat cruising. Queen Elizabeth National Park is definitely among the world’s most bio-diversified wildlife sanctuaries featuring leopards, chimpanzees, hippos, African elephants, and Cape Buffaloes, not forgetting the beautiful lunch cruise along the Kazinga Channel.

Best Time To Visit – Uganda

The best time to visit Uganda is from June to August and December to February, which are the Dry seasons. Wildlife viewing is at its peak then. Primate walks in the forest are a big part of any safari in Uganda. The habitat of rainforests is, by default, very wet, and you can’t avoid rain completely. However, after heavy rain, the skies often open up to bright sunshine.

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Breakfast for day one will be provided at the hotel or your place of residence, followed by a meet, and greet and briefing on the 3 days of the Queen Elizabeth Tour by our driver. There will be a number of stopovers including at the Uganda Equator along Masaka road. Here you will be able to stand in both the northern and southern hemispheres and also experiment with how water swirls in different directions when placed in the northern and southern hemispheres. Take photos and even buy some of the beautiful souvenirs. Head straight to the lodge.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Start the day with early game drives that expose us to diverse animals including the Big Five—elephants, buffaloes, big cats- lions, leopards, and rhinos. More times in the evening, warthogs, and hunchback carnivals like hyenas are spotted along the circuits as we drive along, and many more species that are residents to this park. There is a rich birdlife especially our version of storks in the wetland spots as we reach the flamingoes in the salt lakes at Kasenyi.

Enjoy a boat cruise on the famous Kazinga Channel, a 36km channel linking Lake George and Lake Edward. Here you’ll see land and water-adapted hippos yawning, the National Geographical Society killing machine, the Nile crocodile, gaping along the banks, and the savannah version of pigs, the warthog-Pumba are a hallmark sign in this animal home. With your binoculars along the peninsula, you’ll have a magnificent view of birds and animals like the ever-playing African elephants in the water.

Begin your adventure in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, where you’ll trek through dense bamboo forests and volcanic slopes to encounter one of the few remaining habituated gorilla families.

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be met by our 4-day Uganda Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari representative who will transfer you to your hotel near Volcanoes National Park. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to explore Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital city, known for its cleanliness and cultural attractions. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda

After an early breakfast, we’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the park rangers before beginning our first gorilla trekking adventure. Trek through the lush forest of Volcanoes National Park in search of the endangered mountain gorillas. Spend an hour in their presence, observing their behavior and capturing photographs. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, you can visit the nearby Twin Lakes or the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village for a cultural experience. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda

After breakfast, we’ll depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda, home to almost half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Enjoy the scenic drive through the countryside, passing by rolling hills and local villages. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge or camp near the park. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda and Travel back to Kigali

Today, we’ll embark on our second gorilla trekking adventure, this time in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning the trek. Trek through the dense forest, following the guidance of experienced trackers, until you locate a gorilla family. Spend another magical hour in their presence, observing their behavior and capturing photographs. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, bid farewell to Bwindi as we drive back to Kigali, Rwanda, with stopovers along the way. Upon arrival in Kigali, you’ll be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your onward journey, marking the end of your unforgettable double gorilla trekking experience.
