Having had breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up by our representative so as to set off from Kampala early enough, so as to be on the road as you drive southwest to Bwindi Forest. Along the way, you will then have a stopover at the equator, where you could take pictures to keep the memory, grab refreshments, and there are also craft shops that are well stocked with African items, so you can visit them if interested. When back on the road to continue your journey, you will be able to have great views of the landscape, a beautiful panorama, plus the great and hospitable Ankole people. Your next stop will be in Mbarara town for lunch, maybe plus a little shopping, and then head straight for the park.

Having dressed up accordingly for the trekking activity, early morning breakfast will include your packed lunch and water, and you will get to the park headquarters in time for the briefing before you head on for the activity. Then head into the forest to search for the mountain gorillas in the dense forested area with slippery slopes and the mist-covered vegetation. After breakfast and a briefing by park ranger guides, depart with picnic lunch boxes to start a 30-minute to 8-hour trek to find the Mountain gorillas as you hike up and down slippery slopes with dense mist-covered vegetation. The activity is surely strenuous, but then again, fully rewarding at the sight of the huge gorillas, you will be able to take pictures and observe their various characters as they feed, play, and relate. You’re allowed a full hour with these creatures and thereafter head back, freshen up, have dinner, and overnight.

After breakfast, you will be driven back to Kampala or Entebbe for your post-tour accommodation, or you may choose to fly out of Uganda on your last day. As you take the same route back, there will be another opportunity to stop at the Equator crossing for photographs, souvenir shopping, or to relax before continuing to Kampala or Entebbe. If you plan to fly out on this day, booking a flight that departs at night is advisable to avoid rushing back to Entebbe.
